Or maybe you\u2019ve met a spirit guide here and there but you\u2019re looking for a deeper connection and a more tangible way to know they\u2019re there. OR maybe you\u2019re super connected with your guides and you\u2019re just looking for more ideas on how to connect. I\u2019m so happy you\u2019re here no matter what boat you\u2019re in because I believe there\u2019s always room to grow a more meaningful relationship with your guides.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are Spirit Guides?<\/h2><p>So if you\u2019re new to spirit guides, you\u2019re probably wondering what spirit guides even are. And the answer will likely vary from practitioner to practitioner but to me spirit guides are any being that we can connect with in the spirit realm. There are infinite types of guides and individual guides available to connect with. I believe that we have a core team of guides that are closer to us and are just waiting to being called in. These guides will likely be with us for our whole life or through different periods of our life when we most need their guidance. It can also connect to our past lives and other versions of ourselves.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Universe\/Source<\/strong> &#8211; The ultimate source of creation and connection to everything.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/softspirituality.com\/2024\/03\/17\/ancestor-magic\/\">Ancestors\/Passed\/Future Loved Ones<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; These are the spirits of our ancestors who have passed away but are still connected to us. They can provide guidance, comfort, validation and wisdom based on their life experiences, cultural traditions.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Goddesses\/Gods<\/strong> &#8211; These are deities associated with various aspects of life, such as love, wisdom, fertility, strength, courage, and wisdom<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Angels<\/strong> &#8211; Divine messengers who can provide guidance, protection, and healing.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Archangels<\/strong> &#8211; High-ranking angels who have specific roles. They can provide healing, creativity, and manifestation.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Ascended Masters<\/strong> &#8211; These are enlightened beings who have lived on Earth in the past and achieved a high level of spiritual evolution.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Nature\/Nature Spirits<\/strong> &#8211; These non-physical beings are connected to nature, fairies, gnomes, elves, trees, plants. They can provide grounding energy and a connection to Earth.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Animal Spirits\/Pets<\/strong> &#8211; Spirits of animals can provide guidance, wisdom, and love as well as courage and confidence in yourself.<\/li><\/ul><figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/softspirituality.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/f79af-spiritguidestoconnectwith.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/softspirituality.com\/2024\/03\/10\/meet-your-spirit-guide\/\">How to Connect with a Spirit Guide<\/a><\/h2><p>There\u2019s lots of different ways to connect with your spirit team. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.softspirituality.com\/blog\/how-to-start-a-channeled-writing-practice\">Channeled writing<\/a>, asking for signs, an inner knowing, seeing them in your mind\u2019s eye, hearing their whispers. There\u2019s no one right way to connect with them. I\u2019ve found that it\u2019s easier to connect with guides when you\u2019re in a place of relaxed fun rather than intense pressure to understand their guidance immediately. Playing these games helps strengthen your connection AND it puts you in a more open receptive state because you\u2019re having fun and not putting pressure on OMG SHOW ME THE SIGN now.<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Ask for guidance in music<\/strong> &#8211; Put a playlist on shuffle and focus elsewhere so you&#8217;re not hyper-focusing on each word<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Ask to see a sign<\/strong> &#8211; Ask to see a physical sign (butterflies, a certain flower, etc.) and be open to it coming to you in an unexpected way.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Ask to see a particular number<\/strong> &#8211; Angel numbers, birth days, numbers with special meaning. Ask your guides to send you numbers throughout the day.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Ask to see their name<\/strong> &#8211; If you already know your spirit guides name, ask them to send you reminders throughout the day and send their name to you. Be open to how you receive this.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Ask to feel their presence<\/strong> &#8211; If you feel comfortable, ask to physically feel their presence. You might feel goosebumps or just a knowing that they&#8217;re there with you.<\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.softspirituality.com\/blog\/how-to-start-a-channeled-writing-practice\"><strong>Channeled Writing<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Open your journal with the intention to connect with a guide. Place your pen\/pencil on the paper and let your hand guide your writing. Here\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.softspirituality.com\/blog\/18-questions-to-ask-your-spirit-guides\">18 questions you can ask your spirit guides<\/a> to help get you started.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/softspirituality.com\/2024\/03\/10\/meet-your-spirit-guide\/\">Heart Space Meditation<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Meet them in your <a href=\"https:\/\/softspirituality.com\/2023\/11\/01\/create-your-heart-meditation-space\/\">heart space<\/a>.
